A one-instructor, since-2009 studio in Chestnut Hill with a genuinely cheap on-ramp to on-camera acting — and a website whose event dates quietly rot.
Legit, long-running, and one person: Bernard Glincosky. $395 for four weeks with a 12-student cap is fair for Philadelphia, and the $97 recorded intro is the cheapest honest way to test whether his teaching fits you before committing. Credibility is real but regional — the awards and press logos on the site are self-displayed marketing, not third-party endorsement. And the public pages are unreliable on dates: email before you book.
This is the only date block that matched today's calendar — every other date on the public pages is from a past cycle (see caveats).
Week 1 fundamentals + working-actor mindset · Week 2 script analysis and their “Initial-Read” technique · Week 3 rehearsal, scene development and monologue work · Week 4 performance with individual feedback. Committed students may be invited onward into Scene Study.
The cohort started Tuesday 20 October 2026, so you would be joining the next run — worth asking when it opens.

Every claim below was checked against the pages as they stood on 29 October 2026.
The event page still advertises a half-day intensive on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 — over a year past — and the intro class page still says “Starts April 29, 2025.” The current cohort surfaced only in the site's structured data. Confirm in writing before paying.
The 5-star Yelp mark, “Best of Philly 2024”, CBS Philly and StarNewsPhilly logos all appear on their own site. Their testimonials are self-hosted. Independent review aggregators summarise students praising Glincosky personally, but that's weak evidence, not verification.
Yelp and two aggregator mirrors returned 403 during this pass, so there is no hard rating figure here on purpose rather than a guessed one. If a number matters to you, check Yelp directly.
Worth reading plainly: this is a working regional actor's studio, not a conservatory with a roster of coaches.
No marketing copy was taken on faith where structured data existed.
